Albany - Albany pre-schoolers parade around town to celebrate the Head Start program. More than 120 three, four and five year olds marched down Whitney Avenue Friday morning wearing hand made costumes and waving to a crowd of parents.
The Southwest Georgia Community Action Council in Moultrie controls thePre-K program. It's designed to prepare these kids to succeed in elementary school.
"It gives them an opportunity to develop their social skills because they are around other children everyday. It allows them to get those fine motor skills in order and just basically, to get those fundamentals that will take them to so many place as they begin to grow," said Carmelita Wilkes, Head Start.
The parade was also to show support for the Albany State Golden Rams, where teacher say they hope many of these kids will go one day thanks to a good start in learning.
