Albany- Phoebe Putney's parking lot looked more like a pumpkin patch Wednesday. The pumpkins were a small thank you or in some cases a large thank you to employees who gave up their fall picnic to donate the money to Katrina victims. More than two thousand pumpkins were handed out.
"We've got a carving contest for all of our employees and we're also giving them a recipe booklet for both carving and pumpkin recipes," said Joel Wernick, Phoebe Putney CEO.
This summer, Phoebe gave away watermelons and at Christmas they plan to give employees gift certificates.
