Valdosta - Valdosta State quarterback Barrett Wilkes is the offensive player of the week in the Gulf South Conference for a second time this season.

Wilkes threw for 338 yards and three touchdowns in the Blazers 31-19 win at West Alabama.

 The victory keeps the VSU in a five way tie for first in the conference but the logjam atop the standings will be reduced by one when Valdosta State hosts North Alabama.

The showdown is Thursday night at eight o'clock and will be televised on Comcast.
