Wilcox County - Six year old Sydney Akin was bitten in the neck, side and back by a rottweiler after walking into a fenced-in yard with her mother Saturday night. She was pronounced dead after being airlifted to a Macon hospital.

Akin and her mother had gone to visit friends in Wilcox County. The owners of the dog were not at home when the attack took place.

The Rottweiler that attacked Akin is in quarantine for 15 days. During or after the quarantine ends, Investigators will make a determination as to what will happen to the dog.
