Thomasville, Georgia-- Thomas County's budget requests for next year are almost five-million dollars more than anticipated.

Hearings on the matter will be held at the Hill building the week before Thanksgiving. County Manager, Mike Stephenson, says department requests exceed expectations by more than four-point-six million dollars. Many of them are asking for additional staff, equipment, and operating costs.

For the general fund, Stephenson estimates that there won't be any significant jumps over this year's budget of 15-point-seven million.
