APD major dies

Albany -- A well known police officer dies after a long illness. Forty-eight-year- old Karen Majors died Wednesday morning at an Albany Hospital, after a lengthy battle with cancer.

Majors had been with the Albany Police since 1980, rising to the rank of Major, and serving as the Commander of the Criminal Investigation Division.

Majors had also served as Community Relations Officer, and Commander of the Uniform Division. Funeral plans for Karen Majors are still pending.
