Little Train heading to Alabama Hall of Fame

Birmingham, Al. - Albany native Lionel James will be inducted into the Alabama Sports Hall of Fame in May.

Little Train was a member of Pat Dye's first SEC champion team in 1983 at Auburn where James is the Tigers 11th all-time leading rusher.

James was a fifth round draft pick of the San Diego Chargers where he led the NFL team in rushing, receiving, kickoff return and punt returns in his rookie season.

The induction ceremonies are May 21st in Birmingham and the 2006 Alabama Sports Hall of Fame Class also includes Florida State defensive coordinator Mickey Andrews, former Auburn women's basketball coach Joe Ciampi and the world's greatest women's soccer player Mia Hamm who was born in Selma.
