Volunteers honored with awards and dinner

October 11, 2005

Albany-- An organization that helps thousands of south Georgians with disabilities honored the people who keep the group going.

Volunteers were the guests of honor at Easter Seals of Southern Georgia's annual awards dinner at the Doublegate Country Club.  Awards included Employee Service, Distinguished Service, The Betty Nichols Volunteer of the Year and The Mildred Huie Leadership Award.

Organizers say they couldn't function without the many people who dedicate their time and energy to Easter Seals.

"We would not be able to do the things we do and touch the lives that we touch without all these folks," says Executive Director Beth English.

The organization provides vocational, residential, and individual living assistance to young adults and children with disabilities across South Georgia.
