Albany-- Cancer survivors and patients got pampered as part of breast cancer awareness month.

About 50 breast cancer survivors and patients turned out for a pampering party at the Mint Julep Day Spa. The women enjoyed hand massages, facials, and mini-massages free of charge. Organizer Patricia Swain is a breast cancer survivor. She says after overcoming the disease, the women deserve to be pampered.

"It's important if you don't have cancer. So it's even more important, to make them feel like they're special and it gives them an opportunity to fellowship with people," says organizer and survivor Patricia Swain.

The pampering party is an annual event organized by outreach programs of the Phoebe Cancer Center, The Carlton Breast Center and the American Cancer Society.
