Albany -- Some Dougherty County poll managers were honored Monday for more than 120 years of combined service.

County commissioners and Elections Supervisor Carolyn Hatcher gave retiring poll workers Alan White, Lois Riggs, Essie Wicks, Palma James, and Mary Faulk certificates of appreciation. Most of them served as poll workers for more than 25 years.

It takes more than 360 poll workers to run a county-wide election, and more workers are needed. To find out how you can help with the upcoming election, contact the Dougherty County Elections Office.
