Tifton- A fourth arrest has been made in the string of home invasions in Tift and Colquitt Counties. A fourth suspect is being held in the Tift County Jail on six counts of murder. Agents from the southeast task force and the U.S. Marshal agents arrested 22 year old Thomas Christopher Mathis of Adel Friday afternoon in an apartment in Valdosta.
GBI Special Agent Mike Lewis said Mathis is believed to be directly involved in the murders but could face additional charges.
"We feel like he's involved in the ones in Tifton certainly and probably Colquitt County as well," said Special Agent Mike Lewis, GBI Sylvester.
Authorities are not yet releasing his picture because he is still being identified in line ups. Three other suspects, 19 year old Stacy Sims, 27 year old Jamie Underwood, and 27 year old Jennifer Wilson have been arrested and each face six counts of murder for the killings. They are also being held in the Tift County Jail.
