Wagon Days festival kicks off

October 07, 2005

Coolidge, Georgia-- Coolidge's "Wagon Days" festival kicks off at 9:00 in the morning at the park on Zoe Street on Saturday.

The arts and crafts fair was started last year as a way to promote community togetherness. It was named "Wagon Days" to commemorate the time when Coolidge was supplied by wagons.

Organizers say everyone's invited. "Anybody who shows up will have a good time. I mean, you've got good food; you've got good fellowship with a lot of people. You've got arts and crafts, a lot of different things, good entertainment, prize drawings every hour on the hour," says Myra McCollum.

Among the prizes are a 27 inch television and a surround sound system. There were more than 1,500 people and 40 vendors at "Wagon Days" last year. The best part is, it's free.
