Albany- The city of Albany is working to help first time home buyers realize the American dream. The Georgia Department of Community Affairs held the Dream Albany Home Buyers Fair Thursday at the Civic Center.
It targeted low and moderate income home buyers and offered advice and help to get financing. Now may be a good time to buy for first time home owners.
"The interest rates are down low. I know people are kind of leery about the numbers right now, but it is a good time because the interest rates are down and the down payment assistance you can get, it is a very good time to buy a house," said B. J. Jackson, City of Albany Housing Council.
You don't need a big down payment to be able to buy a home. For further help buying a home, contact the city's Community and Economic Development office.
