Drug chase exceeds speeds of 100 mph

October 6, 2005

Albany- A high speed rush hour chase ends with two men facing drug charges. Albany Dougherty Drug Unit agents had a home near Oakridge Drive under surveillance.  Agents followed a car from the property. The driver tried to speed away. He got up to more than 100 miles per hour before his car spun out of control near Westover and Westgate.

"One of the suspects jumped out of the car and ran into the wooded area behind Woodall's. We were able to apprehend him in the woods and we have recovered some ecstasy in the woods," said Captain Andy Exum, Albany Dougherty Drug Unit.

Charges are pending. Agents have not identified the suspects.
