Thomasville, Georgia-- Workers at the Humane Society in Thomasville are grateful for an anonymous caller. Whoever it was led them to a dog fighting ring.

Police and animal control officers raided a house at 107 Sunnyland Circle late Tuesday afternoon. They say numerous people were watching two pit bulls fighting in a shed when they arrived. The floor had been dug out so the dogs couldn't escape.

Investigators say the dogs were near death. "Unfortunately, individuals who are fighting these dogs, they're not thinking about the dog. They're just thinking about the gambling, or the money, or whatever they may be placing a bet on," says TPD Detective, Toby Knifer.

Clemson Graham, Roosevelt Holland Junior, and Terrell Cochran have been charged with dogfighting. If convicted, they could spend up to five years in prison. Police say the other people at the fight ran away as they arrived.
