Albany- The fifth annual bikes and badges event will take place Sunday at Flint River Harley Davidson. The charity event raises money for the sheriff's youth detention centers across Georgia.

Their will be a poker run, 50/50 drawing, food from Country's BBQ, music by DJ Philgood and free giveaways. Interested participants can contact Charlie Hough at 229-639-0035. The event will begin at 1:00 pm when more than 800 motorcycles will pull into the parking lot and make a lot of noise.

All proceeds will benefit the Georgia Sheriff's youth homes. Sheriff Jamil Saba says, "Without the help of Flint River they would be unable to raise the money that it takes to put together such a great event that changes the lives of young boys and girls." The youth homes success is demonstrated by students who are attending medical school, and the high graduation rate.

DJ Philgood talked about his experience there, "I went to the detention center and it changed my life, and gave me a life because I have my own business, a family and I am a success story like many others at the center."
