That's important because every woman is at risk of developing breast cancer. The best chance for successful treatment occurs when cancer is discovered early - and mammograms can detect more than 90 percent of all cancers.

Factors that increase risk of breast cancer:
- age
- personal or family history of breast cancer
- menstruation at an early age
- overweight
- late age of menopause

It's important to note, however, that more than 70 percent of women who develop breast cancer have no known risk factors.
