Lee County-- Dozens of area Christians lined Ledo Road Sunday for what they call a "Life Chain".

From the intersection of Nottingham and Ledo Road towards Wal-Mart, volunteers lined the street in what they hope is an attempt to end abortion in America. Local Christians of all ages held signs with pro-life messages. This is the 5th year that the city of Albany has participated in the national event to bring light to the sensitive subject.

"The churches in Albany and Lee County are do proclaim that abortion is an evil that has hit America. We're standing here praying, pleading with God to stop the evil of abortion in America," says coordinator Debby Sapp.

Organizers say the turnout has grown since last year. The first National Life Chain Sunday was held in California back in 1987.
