Valdosta - A South Georgia middle schooler collapsed and died during P.E. class Friday.

Thirteen-year-old Christopher Mason was playing in the gym at Valdosta Middle School around 2:30 Friday afternoon when he collapsed. He still had a weak pulse and the school nurse performed C.P.R., but he later died at South Georgia Medical Center.

Investigators say he didn't have any previous medical problems.

His body has been sent to the crime lab for an autopsy.
