Albany- Dougherty County School System Police Chief Troy Conley now has a force to command. Fourteen police officers were hired at the Dougherty School Board meeting. That's just the beginning. Several other clerical and administration positions are still open. Officer salaries have not yet been determined.

"Well, get the officers in, start the process of measuring them for their uniforms and get their gear, things of that nature," said Chief Troy Conley, Dougherty County School System.

Forty nine people applied for the school resource officer positions. They will start patrolling the schools over the next month. School police will start with the five cars the department already had.
