Albany- Southern Family Markets celebrated it's grand opening Wednesday.
For 12 years the Meredyth Drive store operated under the Brunos name, but the Birmingham-based company bought seven Georgia stores including the one in Albany.
"We try to specialize in taking care of the customers. We try to specialize in gourmet and specialty items. We try to be a one point destination for our customers so they don't have to go anywhere else," says store manager David Newsome.
Southern Family Markets also owns and operates Foodmax and Piggly Wiggly stores throughout the southeast.
