Church broken into

September 27, 2005

Thomasville, Georgia--  Sheriff's investigators are trying to find the thief who broke into a church in Thomas County.

It happened at the Mount Moriah Baptist Church in Boston. Investigators are looking for a gray four-door sedan with the Georgia license plate number 2515APT. They say it was driven by a tall man.

Investigators add that, fortunately, the church wasn't cleaned out.  "The back part of the church got broken into, some money was taken. Also, the residence next door to it was entered. Someone went through the residence on it. We do have some leads on that one that we're following," says investigator, Pascal Autrey.

Investigators say the homeowner scared the thief away before he could actually steal anything from the house. They add that the woman had noticed the gray car behind the church earlier.
