South Central Drug Task Force

Ben Hill County-- The South Central Drug Task Force (SCDTF) in conjunction with members of the Governor's Task Force conducted a flight operation in Ben Hill County. The proceeds of this operation include the seizure of seventeen marijuana plants from in and around a residence located at 165 Preston Dr., in Fitzgerald.

Other items recovered include a Honda 4-wheeler, used in the manufacturing process, as well as, two firearms from inside the residence.

The plants were full grown, healthy, and averaged around 10 feet in height. The estimated street value of the marijuana was $30,000. Arrested during the operation was JaTory D. Lundy, age 27, who was charged with Manufacturing Marijuana, a felony, which could result in five years and a fine of $100,000.

The operation was conducted by Agents of the SCDTF, the Governor's Task Force (composed of Georgia State Patrol Aviation Unit, Dept. of Natural Resources, and DEA agents), with assistance from Cpl. John A. Stokes of the DNR, and Sgt. Lee Cone of the Ben Hill County Sheriff's Office.

The GTF will conduct several more fly overs to look for illegal Marijuana in Wilcox, Ben Hill, and Irwin counties.

Several grow sites have been reported by local citizens and are currently under investigation by the SCDTF.
