Albany-- You think you have what it takes to hit the perfect golf shot from 175 yards? Four South Georgians gave it their best shot for a million bucks.

The Dougherty County Kiwanis Club held their 8th Annual Charles Smith golf tournament to benefit the Southwest Georgia Therapeutic Riding Center. More than 40 golfers gave it their best on the green. The top four golfers had a chance to hit a hole in one on the 18th, a shot worth a big prize of one million dollars. Organizers hope the event will grow.

"Next year when the word gets out that there's a million dollar shootout, we'll get more people in and raise more money for charity," says Dougherty County Kiwanis Club President Mike Elder.

The goal was to raise about $6,000 for the therapeutic riding center. Unfortunately, none of the golfers made the million dollar shot. The closest was about 20 feet from the hole.
