Albany - In July, 24 year old Monte Green was on trial for child molestation and statutory rape. Prosecutors say he had sex with a 13 year old girl. The week of the trial he disappeared, but a jury convicted him anyway.
Assistant District Attorney Christopher Cohilas says, "He was recently apprehended in Dothan, Alabama and has been extradited back into our jurisdiction, and now has sentencing to look forward to from Judge Willie Lockett."
Monte Green is in the Dougherty County Jail. He's been charged with failure to appear. Green's girlfriend, April Huntington, was subpoenaed as a witness in the trial. She also skipped town and has not been located.
