South Georgia voting results

There will be a runoff in a Dawson City Council race.

Carolyn Allen and Charlie Sanders will sqaure off in three weeks.

Ernest Johnson was the third candidate in that race.

The winner will fill the Ward 5 Seat previously held by the late Joseph Breedlove.

Voters there in Terrell County and several others overwhelmingly approved sales tax extensions.

In Terrell County, 428 people voted for the Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax referendum. Only 59 voted no.

Easy approval for a SPLOST referendum in Worth County that's expected to raise 7.6-million dollars over five years.

461 people voted yes. Only 103 opposed the tax.

A similar result in Irwin County where the sales tax money will pay for improvements at county schools.

533 voters supported the sales tax. 172 did not.

In Decatur County, a lot more people cast ballots, but the result was the same.

More than 94-percent of voters said yes to a SPLOST referendum.

Just 65 out of 11-hundred 34 voters said no.
