Valdosta - The Valdosta State football team has picked up right where they left off since winning the NCAA Dvision II national title last year.
Chris Hatcher's number one ranked Blazers are 3-0 heading into their first road game on the Gulf South Conference schedule Saturday night at Harding University.
Hatcher says the Bisons will present the toughest challenge to date for his Blazers since Harding always puts up a strong fight on their home field.
Valdosta State is never one to back down from a challenge as the Blazers have won a school record 16 straight games after last week's 52-20 win over Ouachita Baptist.
Despite their strong start to the 2005 season, Hatcher says there are several things his football team has to improve in before the Blazers face some of the heavyweights in the Gulf South Conference.
Hatcher said "We are making alot of little mistakes. The positive is they are all correctible things and again it is still early in the year. And there is still alot of ball left to be played and we have got alot of room for improvement."
Saturday's game at Harding is the first for Valdosta State in five years. Kickoff is at seven eastern.
