Norman Park - Clothing and other items fill the gym at the baptist center in Norman park, where more than 200 evacuees are staying. Workers with the Red Cross and the Baptist Convention say the best way to help evacuees now, is to give cash donations.

David Cook says, "The immediate needs have been met, and it's just like you and me. If you want something, you would like to purchase it on your own, and so right now we're recommending that everyone give to the Georgia baptist relief fund. All of those funds, fortunately will go to the people in need."

If you don't have money to give, you may want to consider donating your time. The Red Cross needs volunteers for shelters throughout South Georgia and to go to the gulf coast region.
