Albany-- Along with faith, Sherwood Baptist Church is providing Hurricane Katrina evacuees with food and financial assistance.

The church serves free meals on Wednesday nights. Anyone who needs a place to stay can sleep at the church. Many church members are also housing evacuees. In the parking lot on Doncaster, a trailer is available where you can donate items for victims.

"We're collecting everything from financial donations to clothes, food, non-perishable food, videos, books," says Associate Pastor of Media Alex Kendrick.

Sherwood also collected more than 30,000 dollars for disaster relief from love offering Sunday. They're also putting together a mission team to travel to Mississippi at the end of the month.

You can donate items at the church between in the morning between 9 and 11 and in the afternoon between 3 and 5.
