Food processor recall

September 7, 2005

A million and a half "Ultimate Chopper" food processors are being voluntarily recalled by the manufacturer and the Consumer Product Safety Commission.

Some units allow the blades to spin without the lid in place. The CPSC and the company have received 17 reports of injuries. Consumers with malfunctioning units should contact "Ultimate Chopper LLC" for a free replacement.

Owners can check their units for malfunction by removing the lid and blade assembly while the unit is off, then see if it turns on without the lid in place.
