Thomasville, Georgia-- Qualifying for Thomasville City Elections is set for next week.
There are four spots open for the Rose City's school board. Three of them fall under regularly scheduled elections. But one of the seats has been open for several months now. It was vacated when board-member Jess Booth resigned because he was moving. Jimmy Woodward, a top executive at Flowers Foods, is planning to run for that spot.
There are three openings on the Thomasville City Council. Incumbents Roy Campbell and Earl Williams say they will run for re-election. But Thomasville Mayor Rick Singletary is not planning on running again. He says he is retiring from the council at the end of his term on December 31st. Thomasville resident Max Beverly has announced his candidacy for Singletary's spot.
Qualifying for city elections will be held the 12th through 16th of this month. The General Election is scheduled for November eighth.
