ATLANTA — State Labor Commissioner Michael Thurmond said that the Georgia Department of Labor is moving swiftly to assist victims of Hurricane Katrina who are evacuating the storm-ravaged Gulf Coast and seeking refuge here in Georgia.

The department is providing information and services through its Web site at www.dol.state.ga.us, its customer service help line and its 53 Career Centers located across the state.
