Station sells unleaded for $3.42

August 31, 2005

Sylvester- The Webb Brothers Spur station in Sylvester is selling unleaded gas for $3.42 a gallon. Workers there declined an interview but say they had to raise the price because its costs them more to buy it.

Unlike other stations owned by big companies, they can't buy in bulk and have no contract to purchase their gas at a set price. Workers say unfortunately they know the price hike will cause them to lose business, because customers can purchase gas at other stations in Sylvester for nearly $0.50 less.
