Thomasville-- The Rose City is packed with people who are escaping the worst of Hurricane Katrina.
Almost every hotel there is booked solid. In fact, it's rare to see so much activity at hotels in Thomasville. Most of the people who left their homes are from Mississippi and Florida.
John Kalinosky, however, is from Louisiana, where Katrina hit the hardest. "We had to get our family to safety and get out of there. The next phase is to go back and see what's left, how much we have to repair," he says.
Kalinosky was among the last few people to get a room at the Days Inn in Thomasville. Other people in line with him were turned away.
