Albany -  An Albany machinist is recovering, after having his hand injured in an industrial accident.

Wednesday afternoon 30-year old Craig Robinson's right hand got caught in a banding machine at Albany Rubber and Gasket on Toledo Road.

It took firefighters and Paramedics almost thirty minutes to tear the machine apart to free his hand. Interim Fire Chief James Carswell said "We took our time to remove his hand so it did not cause any more injury. EMS was there, maintaining and making sure he was as comfortable as possible in that situation. And we did a great team effort."

Robinson was treated at a local hospital and released.

A Company spokesperson would not comment on the extent of Robinson's injuries but said he will be fine.
