Greenville, SC -- WALB-TV is being sold.   In a deal worth nearly $1 billion, WALB and 14 other television stations currently owned by the Liberty Corporation will become part of Raycom Media Incorporated.

Raycom is based in Montgomery, Alabama and currently owns 37 television stations around the country, Including WFXL in Albany.

The $987 million deal must be approved by Liberty shareholders and the FCC, and could be completed by the end of the year.
