August 25, 2005 Albany-- An Albany man is arrested for robbing a Northwest Albany Convenience store last week. Now Investigators want to know if he robbed a number of other Albany stores.
Twenty-five-year old Ronnie Dowdell was arrested yesterday, for robbing the Oasis Convenience Store August 15th.
A gunman wearing a mask burst into that store and took money from clerk. A tip from an Albany person lead Investigators to Dowdell.
Now they think he may have been involved in several other robberies. "The description of Mr Dowdell matches several other robberies that happened in the area," said APD Lt. Tracey Barnes. "Along with how he committed the robberies. So we are going to look into that, and there may be a connection there."
Dowdell is being held in the Dougherty County Jail, on armed robbery and probation violation charges.
