Worth County- In January, we introduced you to Stanford Denby, a man waiting for a new heart. Now, after a successful transplant, he's on the road to recovery.
Denby underwent the heart surgery in May, on Friday 13th, but he says the day commonly associated with bad luck, was the start of his new life. He says prayers and financial support from friends and church members have made his recovery a lot easier.
"I really appreciate whatever all of them have done during this time, and still doing really. Everybody wants to know how I'm doing. I'll get back to getting out and seeing people again eventually. It will just take a while," says Denby.
The fifty-one year old will go through three months of rehabilitation but is hoping to go back to work next year.
