Teachers learn creative P.E. lessons

August 19, 2005

Valdosta - Some of South Georgia's future teachers are learning interesting ways to bring fitness into the classroom.

It may look more like fun and games, but it's actually an educational training program for students at Valdosta State University. It's called "Clues for Success," and it teaches these education majors not to forget one of the most important subjects in school, physical education.

"They're learning a lot of games that the nature of them are such that the student's they'll be working with have so much fun, they don't realize they're having physical exercise at the same time," said Dr. Philip Gunter, Dean of the College of Education.

More than 400 V.S.U. students took part in the training activities.
