Albany- Have you ever wanted to see Aretha Franklin, Tina Turner or even Elvis? Well b eginning Friday, August 19 th , the Albany Museum of Art will feature nearly 40 works by legendary photographer Ernest C. Withers in the Eloise & Banks Haley Gallery through November 13 th .

     The collection is on loan from the High Museum of Art in Atlanta and showcases the rising talent from the Memphis music scene in the 1950s and 60s. Ernest C. Withers: The Memphis Blues Again includes backstage pictures of Louis Armstrong , Brook Benton, Isaac Hayes, Aretha Franklin, Al Green , Ray Charles and even Elvis Presley after performances on Memphis ’ famous Beale Street .

   The energy and stage presence of such names as James Brown , Lou Rawls, B.B. King and Mahalia Jackson are also captured in the show.
