Ashburn- A Turner County grand jury indicted 11 people investigators say were involved in a dog fighting ring.

Among them are Turner County Commissioner Joe Burgess and his son Tino Burgess who both were indicted on two counts of dog fighting, and one count each of cruelty to an animal and aggravated cruelty to an animal.

The commissioner was arrested in July but has been out on bond. Investigators say he allowed a dogfight to take place at the Traffic Light Club, which he owns. Burgess says he is not guilty.

County Commission officials say they are aware of the indictments but aren't sure what will happen to Burgess' seat on the board.
