Thomasville-- It looks like some Winn-Dixie grocery stores in our region won't win a battle against bankruptcy.

The Thomasville branch is expected to close within 10 days. It's selling everything at a discount of up to 90%. On the first day of the sale, the store sold more than $75,000 worth of groceries.

Fifty-eight other stores in Georgia are expected to close, some of them as soon as Saturday. Almost 3,000 people will lose their jobs. The Winn-Dixie corporation filed for bankruptcy protection in February.
