Leesburg-- Lee County leaders say citizens are the winners in a battle over parking spaces.
Monday night, county commissioners approved a policy that makes sure all parking spots in front of the Courthouse complex are reserved for public use. County employees will have to park behind the building or in areas adjacent to the area.
The rift started after Commission Chairman Jackie Sizemore ordered public works crews to remove reserved employee parking signs in front of the tax commisioners office. Tax Commissioner Betty Johnson said Sizemore was angry because he didn't get his way when he came to her office on business.
Leaders are working together to ensure there's adequate parking for employees.
