Albany-- While soldiers are fighting the war overseas, their wives are here at home showing their support.

A group of 48th wives are planning a "Walk to Baghdad". The walk will serve as a fundraiser to send much needed items to the soldiers includiong phone cards and care packages. They're looking for volunteers and sponsors to participate in what they say is similar to Relay for Life.

"We're going to walk the 6,995 miles to Baghdad. This will be a brigade wide event. There's 38 units all over the state that will be doing this," says 48th wife Jennifer Rainwater.

"Those that don't know how to send the packages over or get some kind of contribution over there, this is a way for them to come in and join us," says 48th wife Lashonta Williams.

The walk will be held on September 10th at Tift Park. To find out how you can sponsor or volunteer, send an email to RainwaterImages@bellsouth.net  or call Jennifer Rainwater at 912-381-1224.
