Albany-- Bobs Candies is officially closing the Albany plant.
Today, Farley's and Sathers, the company that bought Bobs last year, announced its final decision to consolidate its Bobs Candies manufacturing operations to one plant in Mexico.
The last day of production for Albany will be in October. Almost 250 workers will lose their jobs when the plant shuts down.
A tentative plan to close the Albany facility was announced last month. The President of Farley's and Sathers says two facilities are not necessary and Bobs will be cheaper to run in Mexico.
