Truck driver charged after Harvey death

Dougherty County-- A Camilla truck driver is now charged with vehicular homicide in a fatal crash with a piece of well-digging equipment.

68-year old Alvin Harvey, the owner of Harvey Drilling Company, was killed when a tanker truck rear-ended his front end loader on U.S. 19 near the Dougherty/Mitchell County line. A state trooper saw the crash happen.

Police have now charged 30 year old Harley Johnson with second degree vehicular homicide and following too closely. Both are misdemeanor charges.
