Albany- Capt. Robert Alexander traded his desert camouflage for faculty attire as he entered Monroe High School to a serenade by the Tornado Band Monday morning.

Alexander is part of a reservist unit that spent about a year in Iraq. Monday was his first day back in the classroom, where he is anxious to teach a new crop of high school students.

Alexander teaches geography at Monroe, and says he plans to use the experiences he had in Iraq to inspire students to do their best in school, and relate geography of the Middle East to their class work.
