Valdosta - Students will be prepared for the first day of class Monday thanks to donations from the community.

Two-hundred fourth and fifth graders from Southeast Elementary School received a back pack full of school supplies Friday. It's part of the school's annual school supply drive called "Operation Good Start."

"It's creating a positive vibe between the school and home, so the parents are comfortable and start the year off on a great note, and maybe we can get more parents to come out and participate throughout the rest of the school year," said Principal Alvin Hudson.

All of the school supplies were donated by local businesses and community organizations.
