August 4, 2005

Lee County-- Autopsy results are back in a Lee County murder-suicide. The GBI says 61-year old Gary Luper shot his wife, Gloria, seven times before he killed himself.

The Lupers were found dead in their home on Old Stage Road outside Leesburg Tuesday morning. Gloria Luper was dead in a bedroom chair with at least seven wounds from a nine millimeter pistol. Gary Luper was on the floor nearby with a single shot to the head. The pistol was under his body.

The Lupers owned Albany Furniture and Pawn Shop in downtown Albany. Their remains were sent to Sullivan-King Mortuary in Anderson, South Carolina.
