Climax-- The families of four people killed in a train/tractor trailer crash in Decatur County are settling out of court.

Three truck-driving school students and their instructor from Bainbridge College were killed at a crossing outside Climax last year. Officials say their 18-wheeler had lurched forward in front of a CSX train.

The families sued the state, and the railroad, saying they were traumatized by their loss. They also said the truck and train were not maintained properly.

The state offered them three million dollars to drop the suit. The state board of regents was named because Bainbridge College owned the truck.
